A working stone fireplace, a private terrace, and the warmth of centuries in every surface.
At the centre of the Firestone Junior Suite, a fireplace built into the original tufa wall has been restored to full working order. It was not placed here for atmosphere — though it provides that abundantly — but because this is where it has always been, heating this room through Puglian winters since the palazzo was first occupied in the 15th century.
At 42 square metres, this is one of the largest individual suites in the palazzo. The private terrace — reached through full-height glass doors — is sheltered on three sides by the original palazzo walls, making it usable for much of the year. Breakfast can be served here; so can dinner, by arrangement with the concierge. A reading nook is set into the masonry on the north wall, low and quiet, with a view of the fireplace.
The bathroom is generous: a double vanity in brushed stone, a freestanding bath near the window, and a rain shower with floor-to-ceiling travertine panels. Toiletries from Salvatore Ferragamo; bathrobes in heavy cotton; a heated towel rail that is, frankly, the best thing about arriving back from the sea in October.
Rates include daily housekeeping, a Puglian breakfast served on the terrace, and full access to all communal spaces — the rooftop pool, garden courtyard, and library. Subject to seasonal availability.
